Some people know they are writers from a very early age. I wrote often to keep my memories safe and often found solutions to problems in the written word. Books were what other people wrote and were what I read. I enjoyed reading and read widely. And then life gets in the way: married at 18, first child at almost 19, second child two years later. Time to raise my family. Children are raised and doing their own thing, time for me to get outside of the home and to work.
Loved being with others and working as a team in sales and customer service. And then, in a fraction of a second, my life changed because of an accident involving my husband and my eldest child. I started writing every day, in between hospital visits, waiting for appointments, dealing with the frustrations and tensions of my husband’s traumatic medical diagnosis. The result of that writing is this book. I realize that writing has become central to my life again.
This book is, I hope, only my first book. I know I have other books to write, all of them based on my life experiences and the new adventures we will have!
